Change of Routine

A new schedule has taken root in our household. The job I mentioned last week came through and Zachary is now full time employed. In these economic times, we are grateful he found one. The crappy side is the during the week, we won't be seeing much of each other. The job is 4 days a week, 10 hour days, from 3pm to 1am. It wasn't exactly what he was looking for, but the wage is good. We are hoping if we can put up with this schedule for a while, we can pay down debt and achieve our other financial goals faster that we originally thought. It will take some getting used to for the both of us...
Last weekend, Zachary and I picked up a couple "how to" books on knitting. I inherited a bunch of knitting supplies from my Grandma Doris and finally put them to use. We learned casting on, garter stitch, and the purl stitch. Zachary actually enjoys knitting, what a renaissance man. It is very relaxing once you get a hang of it. We are both really interested in sock knitting, but we are many many hours of practice away from that. Our friend Kate is also a knitting newbie and she came over last night to practice, after making a delicious meal of stuffed mushrooms and brownie sundaes. Yummy!

Oh I LOVE Knitting. I learned to knit from one of my Aunties when I was 8. Just plain and pearl and caston cast off. I think then my stitches had more holes in them than enough.LOL! I know of some great knitting blogs and there's a great Crochet blog as well which is on my side bar. It's really cool. I love crochet. Great on a cold night. I'll have to put up some patterns for you. I have heaps of them and easy ones too. I just reread your sheep post. Hey they've got New Zealand Sheep Breeds in them Corridale and Southdale were developed here in New Zealand many moons agao. Cool breeds to (I still hate sheep but your little guys I can forgive.LOL)

Good for you guys! Keep staying busy! Never meet a man who could knit before, but maybe it's just cause they didn't have the patience. :) I can knit a scarf, but I think that takes too long. I'll keep to crocheting. If you ever need help crocheting, give me a call. I'm a pro. :)

Glad Zachary found a job. What is he going to be doing? Crummy hours, but like you said, it's only for a little while. If you are ever bored at night and need something to do, give me a call and we can go for supper or a movie? I'm still planning on getting ahold of you after tax season. Only 13 more days! Woo Hoo! :)

Take care,
Beth

Liz-
I'll check out those blogs for inspiration and ideas. That is why these sheep intrigued me so much, they are good for wool and they are unique breeds. A little NZ in Wisconsin. :-)

Beth-
That would be great to get together. It would be fun to get a crocheting lesson. :-) Good luck with the taxes.

I was on a knitting kick for a while. However, my most impressive works included pot holders and scarves. lol.
